Description
The project involved the demolition of the existing gymnasium and the construction of a new 3-storey music/drama block comprising small performance hall, drama/dance studio, peripatetic classrooms together with basement toilets, changing/locker rooms and ancillary space, associated services and external area improvements.
The new building sits between the existing theatre building and the swimming pool/changing room
building, both of which will remain in use during the works.
The existing steel-framed gymnasium and semi-basement were demolished and the foundations
and retaining wall removed.
